A postapocalyptic character called Liz, that I lately came up with
The title was naturally made up and put to give the image the book cover look. As for the process I started with black and white. Once this was finished I put colors and some textured brushes. The back was supposed to stay a bit abstract but without losing the atmoshphere. That is why the colors are a bit washed out and the enviroment is covered with the ash, plus I used some grain effect. All this was done to convey the postapocalyptic world.
The character itself was created manually from the outset (no 3d models, no photo tracing etc). Only the gun was overpainted in some places. Again I tried to keep the balance between the realistic look and digital/comicbook-ish style. But with more of the frist one. I tried to render the jeans clothes the best I could. The goal was to make it as much realistic as it was possible - that means worn and dirty. I als did the same with the skin.
The whole piece took about 2-3 days to finish, and was done in CS2. Hope you like it.
